We'll Never be Apart, a Novel by Emiko Jean

well, I bought this novel when Big Bad Wolf visited Indonesia recently. I'm not a really novel holic that would give everything to get novels for collection. At first, I just want to go there to hang out, no intention at all to buy a book or something. I mean even just read the title or see the picture is enough.

This novel seized my eyes through its cover. It hid in stacks of the book in "CRIME and THRILLER" booth were the only booth that interests me. like its cover which's dark and fills by red color like blood, the plot is amazing too. the summary was like told how it draws the whole story. like it's only about murder, pyromania, and revenge. but it's more than that. the fact that the setting is taken in the mental hospital it does really matter. that's the key.

The summary told us that Alice is a good girl, having a twin named Celie who loves to burn something. and her action sent both of them into a mental hospital which a place for people with damage brain stays. all bad things happen to them is caused by Celie, her sickness of fire and the death of her boyfriend too. hence she tried to takes revenge on her twin sister. she thought if Celie disappears everything will stay as it should be. everything is settled. She tried to find Celie in the Savage Isle because she believed that they would be prisoned in the same place. with her distrustful memory, she began to hunted Celie and blame everything over her. Charles, her new friend helped her to find Celie, it was kind of help since Alice didn't even say the reason to him.

Charles believed her because she talked with sincere eyes and reminded him of his little sister. so, he seemed like to save Alice from her problem because he can't help her sister out of her problem. he felt guilty. then the story goes with Alice's narration that Celie always troubling since they were a kid. Celie is the bad side while Alice is the good side, it was it all.

But don't you know gaes, could you believe someone with mental damage blabbering around you? could you just believe? I mean, Alice seriously ended up in a mental health hospital which means she was ill. that's the point, you can't just believe her right? didn't you? and the ending was DANG!!!! HER TWIN SISTER WAS HER HALLUCINATION. Celia or cellie was an anagram of her name, Alice. CELIA did exist but not as her twin sister, but as her alter ego. The doc said that Celie is her mode of survival of being unwanted and unloved. after the death of her grandpa. therefore the journal of Alice Monroe started from the death of her grandpa. Alice Monroe and Celia Monroe are the same person. PLOT TWIST.

If you like a psychological thriller novel I recommend this for you, this is my first time reading Emiko Jean's book but after all this one is good. the dictions are understandable. she is very detail in drawing the whole setting, both place and time. but the most perfect one is the twist ending. but if you an observant you'll find a lot of abnormal scenes and clues spread around.

well yeah, that's all from me. see you next time
